Few filmmakers are as divisive as the great Italian Pier Paolo Pasolini. He was a novelist, a poet, and a provocateur even before he picked up a camera. His debut film, Accattone, is a revelation. His follow-up, Mamma Roma, is even better. And on 35mm, Anna Magnani sparkles. If that wasn’t enough, IFS follows up Mamma Roma with the 2019 bio-pic Pasolini, with Willem Dafoe as the notorious filmmaker. Mamma Roma screens Friday, Oct. 18, and Pasolini follows on Saturday, Oct. 19. Both movies start at 7:30 p.m. inside CU’s Muenzinger Auditorium.
